ak_sobriquet Mastery of emotion, change of tempo, change of accompaniment and mood within the same track. That's what makes great songs. Anyone can pace on through 3 and 1/2 minutes on the same beat with the same four instruments. Instead, Typhoon crescendo and diminuendo with strings then acapella to the full 12, 15 (more?!) instruments all while weaving beautiful stories. This album should be on everyone's shelf. Daniel Sobocinski When I first heard White Lighter, I was already aware of Typhoon via CPR/Claws Pt. 2, but this album cemented the band as my favorite. Since then I’ve traveled out of state and country to see them perform. I’ve hung out with members of the band in Seattle, watched Kyle play on a roof in Portland, fought subway rats to see them in NYC. I dread the day they announce their retirement -- may it never come -- but I am forever grateful for the journey that started with the release of White Lighter. Favorite track: Reed Rd..

I HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO TYPHOON FOR 10 YEARS NOW!!!!!!!!!! it is music you can come back to at any moment in your life and find something new to hold in your heart :) it followed me through high school and college, to my first job and through the terrors and doldrums of the covid-19 pandemic.....i don't think i'd be here otherwise. with love in my heart forever for this band :D
